Do the people you care about really know how you feel about them?

 mean, do they really know? Or do you just assume they know because of something you said years ago or things you do for them occasionally.

I guarantee most people don’t know how you really feel about them. They don’t know how much they are appreciated and loved, how would they unless you’ve told them clearly, and often.

There is so much misunderstanding, especially in partner relationships, so much confusion and doubt could be eliminated by the simple act of communication. But unfortunately, communication is not so easy for many people.

Why is it so hard to tell the people you love that you do love them? Is it because you are afraid that they might not love you back? 

Is it because you don’t want to be vulnerable and let your guard down because you could get hurt?

The thing is, it’s the attempt at protecting yourself from this situation that ends up hurting you the most, because you are never allowing yourself to feel love and be loved back.

It’s just like that famous quote by Eden Ahbez:

“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is to love and be loved in return”

Everyone is so busy protecting themselves from getting hurt, but they are potentially missing out on something much greater, something real and meaningful in their lives.

I’m not just talking about partner relationships either. The same is said for any relationship in your life… friendships, partners, family and work relationships.

Ok, I know you may not love the people you work with, but you do spend a lot of time with them so it’s important you let them know when you appreciate something they do.

And your friends… tell them that they are special to you and how much you value their time and attention.

Your partner, your parents, your children.. all the love and happiness they bring to your life.

And that’s really what this message is about… letting people know how important they are and the value they bring to your life.

And the only way they are going to truly know, is if they hear it from you.

Don’t wait until it’s too late to tell that someone how you feel, have the courage to speak your truth now, it may mean more to them than you could imagine.
