We are often presented with situations in life where we can feel uncertain on how best to move forward. We can find ourselves asking, ‘what is the best move here’, or ‘how will I know if I am doing the right thing?’
How Do You Know If You’re Doing The Right Thing? Oprah Explains…
You always know it’s the right thing, when in the end there is peace. – Oprah Winfrey
Our positive emotions are the best markers for knowing whether or not we are making good choices. If you are uncertain about what is the best direction to take in a particular situation, you can start by tuning into the feelings in your physical body, and also your emotions. When you consider taking a particular course of action, how do you feel? Is there calm? Is there anxiety? Often our true feelings will be masked by fear, so it is important to really take your time to consider how you really feel.
Know Who You Are
Being able to know who you are at a fundamental level, beyond the labels you wear in day to day life, is key to helping you to know if you are doing the right thing. Ask yourself what are my values? What do you consider to be important in this life? Understanding these values is essential for you to make decisions that feel good to you.
Find A Way To Serve
Everybody has chance to make a difference in this world. If you want to know if you are doing the right thing, ask yourself: Are my decisions helping the world to become a better place, not just for me but for everyone?
Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not. – Oprah Winfrey
Always Do The Right Thing
Doing the right thing is not always easiest in the moment, but ultimately it is the best decision for you. When we make decisions that are in alignment with our truth we feel good and therefore are connected to the highest version of ourselves. When we do the right thing by others, we do the right thing for ourselves.
Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment. – Oprah Winfrey
Life will consistently throw us chances to show up as the best version of ourselves, and see how much we really want to be in alignment with our highest good. If you want your life to be the greatest expression it can be, make it your life’s mantra to do the right thing, always.
